Napa

Napa County has become synonymous with legendary wines, incredible restaurants, and relaxing spas. One of the premier travel destinations in the world, Napa County is also a great place to live. Its climate, with mostly warm days and cooler nights, is ideal for indoor/outdoor living. Breathtaking views of rolling hills with vineyards and statuesque oak trees fan out in every direction.

There’s more to Napa County than just wine. Its communities’ historic downtowns offer plenty of opportunities to browse locally owned boutiques and shops, followed by a long, relax lunch. Visitors and locals enjoy bicycling along the Silverado Trail, hiking, horseback riding, taking classes at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, and hot-air ballooning. Golf courses in and around the valley are surrounded by vineyards and forested nature preserves. Cultural and heritage institutions include the Napa Valley Opera House and Uptown Theatre Napa in Napa; the Lincoln Theater and Napa Valley Museum in Yountville, and the Cameo Cinema in St. Helena. Local festivals, farmers’ markets, Shakespeare performances, and live music fill out the itinerary.

Napa County communities each have their own unique flavor. St. Helena offers grand vineyard estates that sit behind gated drives and rows of olive trees. Rutherford’s homes, tucked away among the vineyards, offer panoramic views of the valley. The city of Napa’s housing features charming cottages, bungalows, Victorians, and Queen Annes. Yountville is a very walkable town of boutiques, art galleries, antique stores, great restaurants, and geothermal spas. Calistoga retains its small-town charm, with a main street that offers an eclectic mix of shopping, tasting rooms, and restaurants.
